Disney + (Plus) is a video service based on US subscription requests that are owned and managed by Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International from The Walt Disney Company. Disney + was launched in Canada, the United States, and the Netherlands on November 12, 2019.
Disney + will focus on films and television shows from Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Television. Original films and television series based on existing new properties are also planned to be launched, including those from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, National Geographic, and 20th Century Fox. Disney + will compete with other subscription video broadcasting services such as Netflix, Apple TV +, and Amazon Prime Videos and will complement ESPN + and Hulu as part of Disney's over-the-top media service strategy.
